A TODDLER has been attacked by a loose dog and the whole ordeal was caught on camera.
Chante Wright-Haywood of Austin, Texas was leaving the house with her sons when the attack occurred, captured by the mother's Ring Doorbell Camera.
initially thought that another neighborhood child was coming up to her and her son, nothing could be farther from the truth.
Quickly after seeing the figure approach, her son fell to the ground and began screaming.
The 2-year-old had been attacked by a dog who was persistent in its pursuit of the young boy.
The video reveals the screams of both the child and his mother as Wright-Haywood fights off the large animal.
She eventually was able to pull her son from the dog's jaws and run with him still crying and screaming back to the house.
“Open the door!” Wright-Haywood is heard screaming on the video.
The dog was still chasing after them at this point, shattering a plant pot and then biting at Wright-Haywood, snagging her coffee.
As the dog continued its onslaught, she kicked at it to keep the animal away.

Eventually, her daughter opened the door and she was able to push herself and her son inside, but the dog kept coming
"You can hear like that snapping, trying to get to him [my son],” she said to local NBC news affiliate KXAN.
“My daughter was able to open the door, and I just kind of pushed him in … the dog was trying to get into the house.”
The animal continued to scratch at the door, causing it to break.
“The dog actually broke the door hinges off of the frame of the door,” Wright-Haywood said.
“Me and the kids were putting all our body weight on the door to hold the door close to keep the dog out while I’m calling police and EMS to come.”
Her son only suffered one bite from the animal and is recovering well.
Wright-Haywood believes that the animal was a stray that someone had abandoned, which is a problem in her area.
“We have an issue with people just coming in dropping dogs off. They don’t want the dog anymore,” Wright-Haywood said.
