Parents of Amir Khan’s wife Faryal Makhdoom say they are terrified their daughter will be divorced
AMIR Khan's in-laws have now waded in on their daughter's ongoing feud with his parents - saying they are terrified the couple will divorce.
Faryal Makhdoom and her in-laws have been involved in a public war of words after she launched into a Snapchat rant earlier this month accusing them of bullying her.
Her parents have now broken their silence to say they fear Olympic silver medallist Khan will divorce their daughter.
Mum Zia Makhdoom said: "We have hearts, hearts that are broken when we hear such things. We are living in fear that at any moment our daughter will get divorced."
Faryal, 25, married two-time world boxing champion Khan, 30, in a lavish ceremony at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel in 2013.
They have a two-year-old daughter together called Lamaisah.
Khan's parents have slammed their daughter-in-law for "adopting a dresscode not acceptable in the Muslim faith".
Faryal also claims she was branded a "bad Muslim" by Khan's family because she wears skimpy clothing in her glamorous selfies.

But her mum said she is just trying to adjust to a western life after leaving her native New York for Bolton.
She explained: "It was a very unpleasant thing to hear and it was very painful for me to find out that Amir's dad said this.
"Faryal would tell me this as well. They keep telling me there will be a divorce.
"I couldn't sleep that night. I kept wondering how Amir's father could say that. And as a father, a father of daughters, to say that."
She continued: "I would request all fathers of the world to never say this to anyone's daughter, to say she can get a divorce. Me and my husband, we couldn't sleep all night."
The feud was sparked after Faryal posted a 'naked selfie' on her Instagram in April this year asking her followers what they thought of her newly dyed hair.
A pal close to the boxer’s family then revealed they were unhappy with what they saw as Faryal wearing skimpy clothing.
The source said: “It caused a big fight in the family. Faryal was accused of spreading ‘nude’ pics on social media.”
Khan’s family and his wife have since been locked in a bitter and very public war of words.
Dad Sajjad Khan said Faryal was trying to break up the family, saying she was "crazy" and was simply speaking out for the attention.
Blasting the American-Pakistani model, he said: "She is trying to come between us, she is trying to break up the very close relationship we have with Amir. She is a very evil woman.
"I have given and taken with her. We all have. All she wants is the limelight."
He added: "He's tried his best to calm things down but she goes against him. Sooner or later I wouldn't be surprised if he just wants out. The writing's on the wall.”
His comments come after Faryal claimed she had been regularly verbally abused by her in-laws, with the criticism so bad that she felt she had to go public.
Speaking to This Morning, she said that her in-laws had called her "Michael Jackson", apparently referring to their belief she had undergone plastic surgery, as well as barbs about her dress sense.
The model said she had tried to stay silent in the hope the family's abuse would stop but it never did.
Amir has previously waded into the row himself and sensationally declared that they will "lose a son and a husband" if they do not stop fighting.
He said he didn't want to "get involved" in the "mess" but apologised for his wife.
