FOOTAGE of a "mixed" party in Saudi Arabia has lead to the country's 'morality police' arresting several women who are alleged to have been part of the group filmed drinking alcohol in the conservative Muslim state.
The clip was posted on YouTube and shows a group of young men and women enjoying themselves with music playing in the background.
Footage shows women dressed in Western-style clothing with bottles and drinks seen on a nearby table which is believed to be alcohol.
Saudi Arabia has strict rules on unrelated men and women socialising and a total ban on the use and sale of alcohol.
The chief suspect, a Jordanian, was arrested while allegedly trying to flee the country.
After being questioned by the police, he eventually admitted to organising the party, authorities say.
Three female guests, a Lebanese woman and her friends were later questioned and admitted to being at the party, Almasar Online has reported.
The Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution is looking into the case and could press charges.
Work has also begun to try and identify any other guests.
Those accused may face harsh punishments if found guilty.
