Man snapped rushing to Gatwick Airport carrying huge bunch of mistletoe sparks romantic theories

A MAN snapped heading to Gatwick Airport with an enormous bunch of mistletoe on Christmas Eve has got social media romantics in a spin.

The image shows the man leaning against a tube carriage on route to Gatwick North Terminal clasping a large bunch of the festive, romance inducing plant.

The picture was posted by Isobel Chillman with the message: "There's a man rushing to Gatwick north terminal with a bunch of mistletoe & nothing else. SOME LOVE ACTUALLY S*** IS ABOUT TO GO DOWN."

Imagining an airport scene reminiscent of Richard Curtis' much-loved Christmas movie Twitter uses were desperate to find out what happened next.

But, all Isobel could reveal was that the man had disappeared into the crowds.

Desperate Twitter users pleaded for news while urging on the mysterious romantic.

One said: "GO Mistletoe Man Go!!"

Another added: "NOW I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!!!!"

A third said: "You can't leave us hanging like that. How did the story end?????"

Another added: "I wish I knew the outcome!!! Hope it was perfect for him"

But it wasn't long before they got an answer.

In a heart-warming festive twist the mistletoe man revealed himself to be Tim Brown and said he had been en route to surprise his girlfriend.

He said:  "'Mistletoe Man' here! Was indeed a happy ending-late to meet my gf so surprised her! Mistletoe Love 2 you all."

His story even got celebrity supporter with TV and radio presenter Clare Balding who commented "yay!"

Tim wasn't the only one gearing up for a romantic Christmas, Cheryl shared a picture of herself having fun with boyfriend Liam Payne.
