UK weather: Met Office reveals when snow could fall with flurries expected this month – as well as just before Christmas
THE Met Office has revealed when snow could fall with flurries expected this month - as well as just before Christmas.
Forecasters have already predicted a wintery weekend as Brits gear up for the festive season with a blanket of the white stuff to settle in higher parts of northeast of .
And the UK long range weather forecast has now shown snow is likely to hit during two periods.
For November 22 to December 1, rain may spread south across the UK and introduce cooler conditions from the north, with some wintry showers possible over the hills, the Met Office said.
Meanwhile, occasional frost and wintry showers are likely at times between December 2 and December 16.
"Wintry showers are a mix of rain, sleet and snow," a spokesperson told The Sun.

"In this instance over the mountains of northern UK as you'd expect at this time of year."
Met Office meteorologist Aidan McGivern said: "We are going to see a plume of milder air come up from the southwest for the start of Saturday.
"But we keep the colder conditions at first over parts of central and eastern Scotland, with a touch of frost over the northeast of Scotland and some snowflakes over the hills and mountains as the rain bumps into that colder air.
"With the winds coming from the north and the northwest it will turn colder with the return of frost and fog patches by night, and also some of those showers will turn to snow over those northern hills and mountains."

Jim Dale, social commentator and senior meteorologist for British Weather Services, said: "With the wind chill and airflow straight from the Arctic next week, there is a real feel of winter coming.
"The weekend is looking milder with a continuation of the rain, particularly across the south and the west.
"But this will be followed by a sheer change in the weather to bring a brief but much colder snap with flurries of snow over high ground of Scotland.
"Windchill could make it feel like -7C in exposed regions."
It comes as heavy rain is likely to cause flooding across the country - sparking travel chaos for the weekend.
A yellow weather warning is in place for the south west of the country, covering Plymouth, up to St David's and across to Portsmouth.
The Met warned it could see homes and businesses flooded, make driving conditions dangerous, and cause delays and cancellations to train and bus services.
