How can you get the free ride?

Uber is offering free rides for new and existing customers who are out on Christmas Eve.

It is putting on the service to make sure people can enjoy their festive parties and get home safely.

The offer comes as Budweiser joined forces with the global service to ensure people stay safe over Christmas.

Budweiser also launched an anti drink-driving campaign fronted by Dame Helen Mirren.

What is the limit?

From 4pm to 12am on Christmas Eve anyone can order a free UberX.

The price limit for the trip is capped at £15.

It is open to new and existing customers.

A quarter of Brits will go out on the Saturday night ahead of Christmas.

All new users will still be able to get a free ride up to £15 on Budweiser throughout the rest of December.

What have the people behind it said?

Steph Okell, Marketing Manager, Budweiser UK, says: "We’ve run a lot of responsible drinking campaigns in the past, but for 2016 we wanted to take our commitments to the next level with an initiative of epic proportions that would really have an impact.

"We want to spark as many conversations as possible and if we can deter people from getting behind the wheel after drinking this Christmas, we’ll consider the campaign a success."
