PANDA-MONIUM

Heartwarming moment excited giant panda hugs and plays with a SNOWMAN in his enclosure

Da Mao has thousands of new fans after a video of him frolicking in the snow in his enclosure at Toronto Zoo, Canada, went viral

THIS heart-warming clip shows a cute panda frolicking in the snow yesterday with a new-found friend - a SNOWMAN.

Giant panda Da Mao was caught on camera playing with the snowman in his enclosure at Toronto Zoo in Canada.

The furry animal hilariously climbs on top of the mound, built as a treat by keepers, before falling off and knocking off the 'head' in the cute clip.

He tries to climb back up onto the snowman's body before flopping over again and rolling around in the snow.

His antics have earned him thousands of new fans after the zoo posted it to their Facebook page, where it has been watched over 148,000 times.

One delighted fan said: "PLEASE keep these coming; I haven't laughed so much in ages; bless him he's a real character!

"Love that he gets so much fun out of simple things, go the keepers for making him a snowman!"

Another added: "He is hilarious. He sure knows how to have a good time in the snow!"

Other praised the keepers, saying " I love that his keepers take the time to give him interesting distractions to encourage him to have an active panda mind and body.

"It's encouraging to know he's not just sitting in an enclosure and is happy."

And it's not the first time Da Mao has found viral fame after another video of him playing in snow racked up thousands of hits in February.

Da Mao has been living in Toronto zoo since March 2013 after arriving from China with partner Er Shun.

Er Shun had two cubs last year, Jia Panpan (Canadian Hope) and Jia Yueyue (Canadian Joy), after being artificially inseminated with sperm from Da Mao.

They were the first giant panda cubs to be born in Canada.
