'Justice SERVED'
School boy Yousef Makki was unlawfully killed, finds fresh inquest
Joshua Molnar, now 22, had claimed self-defence but the victim's family appealed a previous court decision.
GRAMMAR school pupil Yousef Makki was unlawfully killed, a fresh inquest found yesterday.
The 17-year-old was stabbed in the heart in a row with Joshua Molnar.
Molnar, now 22, claimed self-defence and was cleared of murder and manslaughter.
In 2021, a coroner recorded only a narrative conclusion on Manchester Grammar pupil Yousef’s death in Hales Barns, Cheshire, in 2019.
His family challenged and the High Court ordered a new inquest.
Yesterday, Stockport coroner Geraint Williams concluded Yousef was not holding a knife at the time as was claimed.

He described Molnar’s actions as “unreasonable”, adding: “The conclusion of unlawful killing is fairly set out by the evidence.”
Yousef’s sister, Jade Akoum, said: “Justice has now been served.”
