Woman, 42, killed in horror house fire in Hove as cops launch probe into tragedy

Cops want to 'fully understand' what happened

A 42-YEAR-old woman has been killed in a horror house fire - with cops launching a probe into the tragedy.

Emergency services were called to the blaze on Kingston Close shortly after 5am this morning.

The fire broke out on Kingston Close in Hove

Paramedics treated the woman at the scene, but she was pronounced dead a short time later.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said her next of kin have been informed and are currently being supported.

Now cops are working with the local Fire Service to "fully understand the circumstances behind this tragic incident".

Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or has any information that can help is asked to contact police  or via 101, quoting Operation Compton.

At 8.47am this morning Brighton & Hove Police said: "We are currently assisting the fire service with a house fire in Kingston Close, Hove.

"The incident is ongoing and the public can expect to see an emergency services presence in the area in the meantime.

"We have no further information at this time."

There were 334 fire-related fatalities in Great Britain during 2021/22 - 23 more than in the previous reporting year, when there were 311.
