Horror as child is dragged along popular UK beach after falling off horse as police rush to scene
HORROR unfolded at a popular UK beach after a young girl fell off her horse and was dragged along the shoreline.
Merseyside Police and paramedics responded to the shocking ordeal at Formby Beach in Liverpool today.
Authorities were at the scene by just after 3.30pm and discovered the little girl had been injured.
The force confirmed she was riding a pony on the beach and fell off before being dragged behind the animal.
North West Air Ambulance also responded to the reports of an accident involving a child.
Fortunately there were no serious injuries.

The young girl is understood to have suffered bruising to her legs and was understandably shaken up.
She was left with her family and paramedics after the shocking ordeal.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We received a report at 3.35pm of a child having fallen from a small pony and being pulled a short distance.
"She suffered minor bruising to her leg and was left in the care of her family and ambulance staff."
