Star Wars Rogue One fans spot a JCB in movie trailer – but it’s not what it seems
Eagle-eyed film buffs glimpse big yellow digger on a rebel starship base, whilst failing to notice the one good reason for its presence
STAR WARS fans have spotted a JCB digging machine in one of the trailers for Rogue One, the latest story set in the famous galaxy far, far away.
The sensational new blockbuster movie only opened in cinemas last week but already sci-fi geeks are posting mistakes and glitches they’ve spotted on film and fan sites.
Several spotted a giant piece of JCB plant loading a space ship as two X-wing fighter pilots strolled past a hanger in a taster for Rogue One.
One fan vented his rage on the forum of online movie bible IMBd.
He wrote: “In several of the trailers, there is a scene where two X-wing pilots are walking past two large hangars.
“In the background is a modern piece of construction equipment clearly bearing the logo of JCB, a UK-based manufacturer. (It's possible this will be cleaned up in post-production).”
However, we're afraid to report that the JCB is probably not in the footage by mistake.
It appears to have caught on camera during a , so was not actually an error.
Other eagle-eyed fans spotted jarring mistakes in the film itself after seeing it in the cinema.
One person revealed: “In a scene where Jyn Erso is talking to Saw Gerrera, the position of his breathing mask changes.
“It mostly hangs to one side of his chest, but in one close up shot it is in a different position without the character having moved it. It returns to the precious position in the wide shot.”
Also spotted was: “When Jyn is given her mother's necklace at the start, which is quite large and noticeable, her mother goes to tie it around her neck, then the shot cuts and it's instantly tucked inside her closed jacket out of sight.”
Yet another revealed: “When landing the transport the crew is preparing for landing as they deploy landing gear.
“You even hear them say that the landing gear is locked in position. Minutes later, when they actually are landing, you see the landing gear coming out of the Transport, not being deployed earlier.”
Another was the weather conditions in the film, with a fan revealing: “At the first appearance of Orson Krennic the wind is blowing very strong and his cape is moving very strong too. But during the close-up scenes the cape almost doesn't move. In different shots, it's moving strong again.”
