Kate Hunter has been found after she vanished from her home three days ago
A TEENAGE girl who was spotted on CCTV footage near a McDonald's with a mystery man before going missing for three days has been found.
Kate Hunter, of Wetherby, West Yorkshire, had been last seen at 6pm on Friday - but her relieved family has now shared the news that she is safe at home.
When the teenager failed to return home from Leeds city centre by 9pm, her worried relatives raised the alarm.
The young woman's family has since shared news that she is home safe.
Her brother Steve took to social media, simply writing: "She's home".
Her family had previously spoken out over their terror that the young woman had seemingly vanished.
Her older sister Natalie Horner posted an appeal on Facebook at the weekend which was shared more than 10,000 times.
She said: "My beautiful sister Kate is STILL missing. It has been almost 48 hours and we are no closer to finding her. Please, please if you have any information call us or message us, we are totally desperate."
As part of the search, police released CCTV images of Kate in the McDonald's in the Briggate area of Leeds between 10.16pm and 10:42pm on Friday evening.
Police released an updated statement after the young woman was found, writing: "Kate Hunter, aged 15, from Wetherby, who was the subject of an earlier missing persons appeal, has now been found safe and well.
"A man shown with with her in CCTV images has also been identified and we don't require any further information with regard to him.
"We are very grateful to everyone who has assisted in sharing the appeal.
"You've once again shown what a powerful tool social media can be in livetime police investigations to safeguard vulnerable people."
When she went missing, Kate was said to have been wearing a cream jacket with fur on the hood, black denim trousers and a black jumper.
CCTV images also showed her walking with a large bag, appearing to be full.
