Labour eye cheaper energy bills for families if big infrastructure projects are built close to their homes
FAMILIES will be offered cheaper energy bills if big infrastructure projects are built close to their home under Labour plans.
It is among the party’s ideas to get the country building its way back to economic growth.
Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves said communities which host such projects “will feel the benefits, including lower energy bills”.
She also wants to fast-track the planning process for high-tech schemes such as battery factories and 5G projects.
Reeves added: “If we want to spur investment, restore economic security, and revive growth. Then we must get Britain building again.”
“It is time we had a government with ambition for our communities. A government siding with the builders not the blockers. A government that will get Britain building again.”

Meanwhile, fifty business leaders including those from Greene King, Travis Perkins and the British Chamber of Commerce will meet with Reeves for a post-speech reception.
She will also use the keynote address to say the country can’t tax and spend its way to prosperity.
A source said that after Rachel finishes her speech they want the public to say they can “trust her” with the economy.
She also wants to raise stamp duty charge on non-UK residents to pay for 300 planning officers.
