Hero mum shielded toddler after he was attacked by ‘XL Bully’ on street in horrific mauling caught on camera
A HERO mum shielded her toddler after he was attacked by a dog thought to be an XL Bully - in a horrific mauling caught on camera.
The hound set upon the 20-month-old boy outside the Hilton DoubleTree hotel in Greenwich, east London at 10.10am yesterday.
The family were visiting the child's father - who was working in Canary Wharf - from overseas, The Sun understands.
They were staying in the DoubleTree Hotel at the time of the attack and are understood to be still staying there following the mauling.
Now the dad has revealed how his hero wife "covered" their toddler during the savaging.
He told The Sun: "She came out after breakfast with my son for a stroll for some fresh air and the dog came out of nowhere.

"She tried to cover him. The dog bit him on his left thigh and gave him a puncture wound.
"He had to undergo surgery where they had to make incisions around the wound to remove the section for infection.
"I was not aware of all these attacks, but when I got into hospital I learned how frequent these attacks have been."
The boy is able to walk again following surgery.
His dad told how he rushed to the scene after a colleague called him to say his son had been attacked.
He said: "I was at work. One of my colleagues was outside the hotel called me to inform the dog had attacked.
"I rushed home. I was trying to get to the hotel but the paramedics took him to the hospital so I diverted on the DLR.
"It is all on CCTV."
The family arrived in the UK on September 17, and are due to fly back home on Friday.

Footage seen by The Sun appears to show the woman slumped in the road with her baby on her lap - as a man pins the hound to the floor.
The two videos, about two minutes long each, show terrified bystanders standing around and calling the police.
A witness told The Sun: "There was blood all on the pavement, it was horrific."
One neighbour said he called the police after hearing “terror movie-style screams” from the baby’s mother.
The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “I heard a woman screaming, like proper horror movie screaming so I called the police.
