Queen’s grandson James cheers on horses while clutching a betting slip at Ascot
Son of Prince Edward and Sophie excitedly urged on the horses at Ascot's Christmas Meeting, where he was celebrating his ninth birthday
THE Queen’s youngest grandson didn’t keep his cool furlong at the races on his ninth birthday yesterday.
Excited James, son of Prince Edward and Sophie, urged on the nags while clutching a betting slip at Ascot’s Christmas Meeting.
The young royal, who is 10th in line to the throne, later seemed to be concentrating really hard.
He was kitted out for the races in a stylish blue tweed jacket, with a polka dot navy tie and a light blue shirt.
It is not known if he celebrated his birthday with a big money win.
Unlike the rest of the Queen's grandsons, James does not hold the title of prince and is not addressed as HRH.
He is styled as the son of an Earl and goes by James, Viscount Severn. His elder sister is Lady Louise Windsor. The pair are known to enjoy horse riding together.
