‘You people were nasty, mean and vicious’

Donald Trump finally admits his supporters during the US presidential election campaign were ‘violent’ after calling his rallies a “love fest’ and the ‘safest place on Earth’

President-elect Trump thanked a crowd of thousands of supporters for helping him win the election before calling them 'vicious'

DONALD Trump has told his supporters that they were “nasty and mean and vicious” during the US presidential election campaign.

Addressing some 11,000 supporters, he said: “You people were vicious, violent, screaming, ‘Where’s the wall? We want the wall!’ Screaming, ‘Prison! Prison! Lock her up!’ I mean you are going crazy.

"I mean, you were nasty and mean and vicious and you wanted to win, right?”

“But now, you’re mellow and you’re cool and you’re not nearly as vicious or violent, right? Because we won, right?”

The President-elect also admitted for the first time there was an issue with violence at some of his rallies, having repeatedly downplayed reports, saying his rallies were “the safest place on Earth.”

CNN reporter Jeremy Diamond said he was abused at that very rally in Orlando by a Trump supporter who threw an empty water bottle at him and called him “trash”.

During his campaign against Hillary Clinton to win the battle to the White House, Trump claimed his rallies were the "safest place on Earth" and called them a "love fest".

At a rally in Iowa in February, he told supporters to “knock the crap out of” hecklers. He also offered to pay the legal fees for a support who sucker-punched a protester at a rally in North Carolina.

“Whatever happened to the deplorables, right? They’re not so deplorable,” he said Friday. “They’re not so deplorable anymore.”

President-elect Trump took to social media to slam China after a warship seized one of the US’ underwater drones.

The capture took place yesterday in the South China sea right in front of the crew of an American ship.

Despite complex negotiations needed to ensure the drone’s return, Trump voiced his outrage on social media.

The President-elect wrote: “China steals United States Navy research drone in international water – rips it out of water and take it to China in unpresidented (sic) act.”

Despite Trump’s removal and replacement of the tweet, keen-eyed Twitter users were quick to spot his “unprecedented” mistake.
