Amir Khan vows to ‘sort out’ feud tearing his family apart in row over his wife Faryal’s ‘naked’ selfie
Boxer vows to end row between loved ones as he speaks at fundraiser for his charitable foundation
BOXER Amir Khan has claimed he is going to "sort out" the on-going feud between his wife and his family which was sparked after she posted a "naked" selfie on Instagram.
The boxer’s dad recently hinted his son will “want out” of his marriage with Faryal Makhdoom, calling his wife “very evil”.
But speaking at a charity gala last night in Washington, Amir said he wanted to put an end to the feud, reports.
The boxer appeared at the event, which was a fundraiser for the Amir Khan Foundation, alongside wife Faryal - but barely spoke to her throughout the evening.
Strained smiles showed the tension which has built up this week over the family's battle.
Amir told MailOnline: "Whatever happened, happened. Inshallah one day it will be sorted out.
"We want to be one family. It will take time but everything will be sorted out.”
Holding his daughter in his arms, he added: "The hardest thing about being a boxer is being separated from my family."
She did not join the boxer on the podium at last night's event, instead spending most of the evening surrounded by her family.
Among those at the fundraiser was Parveen Chaudrey, who said: “In-laws should help Faryal, not drag her through the mud - I'm on Team Faryal.”
Earlier this week a pal close to the boxer’s family revealed they were unhappy with what they saw as Faryal wearing skimpy clothing.
The source told the : “It caused a big fight in the family. Faryal was accused of spreading ‘nude’ pics on social media.”
Khan’s family and his wife have been locked in a bitter and very public war of words of late.
Dad Sajjad Khan said Faryal was trying to break up the family, saying she was "crazy" and was simply speaking out for the attention.
Blasting the American-Pakistani model, he said: "She is trying to come between us, she is trying to break up the very close relationship we have with Amir. She is a very evil woman.
"I have given and taken with her. We all have. All she wants is the limelight."
, he added: "He's tried his best to calm things down but she goes against him. Sooner or later I wouldn't be surprised if he just wants out. The writing's on the wall.”
The 54-year-old from Bolton said that his daughter-in-law was "crazy" for speaking out on national TV rather than speaking to the family.
His comments come after Faryal claimed she had been regularly verbally abused by her in-laws, with the criticism so bad that she felt she had to go public.
Speaking to This Morning, she said that her in-laws had called her "Michael Jackson", apparently referring to their belief she had undergone plastic surgery, as well as barbs about her dress sense.

The model said she had tried to stay silent in the hope the family's abuse would stop but it never did.
She said: "It's not in my nature to ever go public about personal matters.
"Being so young and getting married into a public sphere has been difficult, over the years his brother and sister went on Twitter and Instagram rants about me saying I'm fake and that I've had plastic surgery.
"I was patient about it, I thought my silence would make them stop."
She hit out at the family's criticism of her wardrobe, sharing a photograph of Amir's brother apparently "drunk at a girl's house".
She later apologised to her fans for sharing the photo, saying she had been angry at the time.
Amir has previously waded into the row himself and sensationally declared that they will "lose a son and a husband" if they do not stop fighting.
He said he didn't want to "get involved" in the "mess" but apologised for his wife.
Following last night's event however it appears the sportsman has changed his mind.
At the fundraiser Amir asked for contributions to support Thirst Relief, a program to build water wells that will "change lives in a poor community".
