Dozens of boxes of booze are unloaded ahead of Tory conference in Manchester
THE Tories get ready for a party as dozens of boxes of plonk and Peroni beer are unloaded ahead of their annual conference.
Security staff are reported to have spent the past four days stuffing pallets of booze into the Midland Hotel, Manchester.
The hotel — right next to the conference complex — has also taken delivery of crates of Champagne Pommery and spirits from the Edinburgh Gin Distillery.
For mixers, plenty of bottles of posh soda from Fever Tree were stacked on the pavement ready to be moved inside.
Hopes are growing that Rishi Sunak will use the conference, which runs for four days from Sunday, to call time on the “war on drivers” by greedy councils.
In what would be a huge win for The Sun’s Give Us A Brake campaign, the PM’s Plan for Motorists could see 20mph zones and bus lanes rolled back.

And town halls could face limits on motorists’ fines and the number of low-traffic neighbourhoods.
It comes as the Tories gather in Manchester for their annual bash with the PM set to address party faithful on Sunday and next Wednesday.
