My husband bought a hell-hole house for cheap WITHOUT asking me – I never saw inside… and I’m glad I didn’t
A WOMAN, whose husband bought a hell-hole house without asking her first, says she's now thrilled about it.
US couple Steven and Ashley spent seven years transforming a cheap but hideously mouldy and crumbling former fire station into a stunning mansion.
In a recent TikTok, Ashley explained how her husband had bought the house seven years ago "without asking" her.
"We closed on it the same week of our wedding," she added.
The , shared with the couple's 2.2million followers, charts the entire renovation from the first day they saw the inside to its total transformation into a huge family home.
Ashley said: "It was once an old fire station that was turned into a home in the 1980s.
"The house became a lot to manage and was eventually left for black mould to take over."
Steven managed to scoop the house for $90,000 [£74,000], and Ashley said, "it's been a labour of love ever since".
The mum-of-one added: "People always say it must be nice to be rich, when in reality, it's been a lot of hard work and renovating on a budget."
"We wanted the home to be a place our children would love and we are so proud of the outcome so far."

The massive house now boasts their own cinema, sauna, indoor football pitch, games room, ice hockey rink, gym and even a slide between floors.
However, not everyone online agreed that it looked like they renovated the old fire station on any kind of budget.
One user said: "This is definitely having money."
Another said: "U had a great budget lol".
"It's been all hard work on a budget. Sadly our budget's only $9 million," quipped another.
But plenty of other TikTok users rushed to support the hard work that the couple put into their dream home.
"People don't realise hardwork pays off," said one.
"What a nightmare but man it was worth it," wrote a second.
A third offered: "Wow you've accomplished a lot in 7 yrs. What a beautiful home you have made."
It comes as a man took a gamble and bought a crumbling old house without ever seeing it - but says he can make a fortune flipping it.
The buyer from Houston, Texas found the property on Facebook for only $80,000 [£65,000] and believes he can over double that after he fixes it up.
