Scotland’s deputy First Minister branded ‘disrespectful’ after turning up forty minutes late to meet Princess Anne
DEPUTY First Minister Shona Robison was branded “disrespectful” after turning up to an event with Princess Anne forty minutes late.
attended the opening of Aberdeen South Harbour on behalf of the Scottish Government on Friday - but is understood to have kept the over 300 guests waiting.
According to the Scottish Daily Mail, Princess Anne filled the time waiting by speaking to members of the public for longer than initially planned.
The said that Ms Robison was late due to “urgent government business”.
Scottish Tory MSP Douglas Lumsden said: “It was completely disrespectful that the Deputy First Minister could not get to the Royal opening of Aberdeen Harbour on time and to keep everyone waiting, including Princess Anne, is quite disgraceful.”
A Scottish Government spokesman said: “The Deputy First Minister was unavoidably delayed due to urgent government business and apologised to the organisers.
