Jurors failed to reach verdicts on six counts of attempted murder relating to five babies.

Prosecutors revealed they are seeking a retrial against her on one of the outstanding counts relating to baby girl Child K.

They are not proceeding with the remaining five counts.

Letby, who appeared via videolink today from HMP New Hall, spoke only to confirm her name and that she could see and hear proceedings.

A provisional retrial due to last between two and three weeks has been set at Manchester Crown Court for June 10, 2024.

Letby killed seven babies while working at Countess of Chester Hospital.

She was handed a whole life order last month that means she will never be released from prison.

Letby refused to enter court to face justice in what the families of her victims described as a "final act of wickedness from a coward".
