A SHOCKING incident captured in Meath this week shows workmen fight off a hammer wielding thug and pal after they were attacked on a site on a busy street.
In the video, the two men can be seen walking past barricades on the footpath onto the site as the builders called to them, saying: "No, you can't go in there."
Ignoring the builder's instructions, one of the men can be heard shouting back: "What are you going to do about it?" adding, "You should have a f***ing sign."
After a series of verbal exchanges, the men became aggravated, with one picking up a large pipe lying on the site and hurling it towards the builders, narrowly missing one.
He then can be seen picking up a large sweeping brush before approaching the builders.
As he gets closer, one of the builders pushes him back.
The man quickly picked up a shovel before the builder dragged him to the ground in an effort to disarm him.
The second man then picked up the shovel.
As the builders struggled to take the shovel off the man, his pal returned from the ground with a hammer in his hand and began swinging at the builders.
He was then struck with a shovel.
