Teen who vanished on dream Disneyland trip now ‘in Austria with young man’ as mum says ‘it seems to be love’
THE mum of a teenage girl who vanished on a family trip to Disneyland Paris is “dreaming of a hug” after her daughter made contact.
Amber Victoria Palm disappeared on the last day of their French holiday and hadn’t been heard from for five weeks.
But overjoyed mum Mactalene Palm, who pleaded “find my little girl” in The Irish Sun on Thursday, revealed the missing 17-year-old has now reached out to the family.
We understand Amber is currently in Austria with a young man she met online who picked her up in a car after she snuck away from her Disney hotel during the night.
The Palm family, based in Castlerahan, Co Cavan, are making plans to fly out to bring Amber home.
Mactalene told how she has arranged an appointment at Ballyjamesduff Garda station to cancel a missing persons alert and she said she hopes to have Amber back in Co Cavan within the next week.
And speaking to The Irish Sun on Thursday night, Mactalene admitted she “can’t wait” for the reunion.
Mactalene told us: “I’m dreaming of a hug. It has been so long since I hugged my girl. She will get the biggest hug ever. I’m really happy. I can’t tell you how happy I am.
“The past month not knowing where she is has been a nightmare.
“I’m phoning all the family now and letting everyone know. Some of our family is in Australia, so we’re getting in touch with them too.”

The Palm family enjoyed a series of video calls with Amber on Thursday as they finalise arrangements for her return to Ireland.
Mactalene said she’d shed “tears of happiness” at hearing her daughter’s voice again.
Amber snuck away from Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe in Coupvray, France, on August 7 as her family slept at 3am — before meeting a young man at a nearby petrol station.
After reporting her missing to French cops, CCTV was retrieved showing the girl being driven away from the garage by a man who is believed to be the same age as her.
'IT JUST SEEMS TO BE YOUNG LOVE'
Mactalene told us: “It just seems to be young love. She is with the guy. She read my appeals on the internet. She did see it and got in touch with me. It seems to be love, she ran off with the guy. I’m just happy she’s okay.
“We will go over to get her. We have her passport and all that, she didn’t have her passport with her.
“We just need to sort out things with the police. That is the next step because when she went missing, she was red flagged and things like that.”
Mactalene said she “feared the worst” after the teen did not get in touch and there were no sightings of her.
