Cops invesitgate death of British holidaymaker killed by single punch ‘after bust-up at Costa del Sol bar’

A British holidaymaker was killed by a single punch as he stepped in to try and break up a fight during a night out in a Spanish tourist resort.
Businessman Nadeem Aslam, 42 and his wife Jayne had been drinking with pals in an ex-pats pub in Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol.
Trouble flared later as they walked with friends to get some takeaway food.
A pal Nadeem was with got involved in a bust up in the street with two Polish men.
As Nadeem, from Solihull, West Mids tried to calm the situation he was felled by a single blow from one of the Poles.
He died of a head injuries at the scene after paramedics had battled to save him.It's believed he hit his head on the pavement.
His attacker fled the scene but later gave himself up to Spanish police and is being held in custody after the incident on Thursday night.
Heartbroken Jayne has been joined by the couples four children aged between 14 and 22.
They plan to bring Nadeem's body back to the UK tomorrow.
The tragedy happened after he and his party had been drinking in the Seaside Bar in Furengirola.
Brit ex pat eyewitness Paolo Mortoni said:"Nadeem and his wife had been drinking and were blowing off a fair bit of steam.
"They had been over in the summer for a holiday and had come back to unwind before he opened up a new waffle shop in Birmingham.
"We had all had a fair bit to drink and then Nadeem, his wife and another couple from Birmingham went off to find some food.
"The other guy got into a little bother with these two Polish guys and then Nadeem jumped in to split things up.
"He was cleaned straight out by the punch and just lied on the floor not moving.
"Paramedics and the police were trying to revive him for a good 45 minutes with a defibrillator.”
The other British man was treated for minor injuries to his face and body.
A police spokesman confirmed an investigation into the incident was ongoing.
Cops say they have been told by witnesses another Brit on a night out got into a row with a bar owner when a group - including Nadeem and his wife Jayne -were refused entry at 11.30pm on Thursday night.
A Polish man drinking in the bar came out and began fighting with the man - thought to come from Birmingham - and Nadeem was felled by a single blow as he stepped in to break it up.

A 34-years-old Polish man fled the scene but was held after a tense stand-off as police surrounded his flat.He threatened to commit suicide before agreeing to hand himself in.
He will be questioned by a judge in a private court remand hearing.
A spokesman for Spain’s National Police confirmed: “National Police officers have arrested a 34-year-old Polish man in Fuengirola as the suspected killer of a British citizen who died after a fight at the door of a bar in that resort.
“Investigations so far have shown that the suspect punched his victim in the face, causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head.
“He was confirmed dead at the scene. A man with him was also injured.”
