Southern Rail strike forces mum to release photo of her boy, 6, walking to school 2 hours early in the dark
A SINGLE mum sobbed as she forced her son to walk to school two hours early - because she risked losing her job if the chaotic train strike made her late.
Jenny Lehane posted a picture of her six-year-old son making the journey in his pyjamas - and then told everyone involved in Southern Railways' industrial action to "hang your heads in shame".
Almost one million passengers are facing the worst disruption in 20 years after the Court of Appeal rejected an attempt by the rail firm to block the three-day strike.
Scuffles have already broken out on platforms as members of the Aslef train drivers union formed picket lines outside stations.

In an email to her MP Chris Philp, Jenny wrote: "Do you have any idea of the stress, worry and upset this is causing. I HAVE to go to work.
"I am a single parent and my 6 year old needs his mother to work to keep a roof over our heads.
"A message from me to all involved: hang your heads in shame!"
The angry mum said she woke her son up at 5.30am this morning so she could make a three-hour journey to work in London.
She fears losing her job because of delays commuting to work on the Southern rail service.
She added: "Is this fair? It is not. How dare you all do this to him!! I am only 1 example in tens of thousands.
"This is only 1 glimpse of 12 hours in a commuters life out of months and months of misery."
Before the appeal result was revealed yesterday, Southern Railways advised passengers NOT to travel today.
The train company told commuters not to try and board trains because it would be "too late" to get trains and drivers in the correct position.
