Brad Pitt ‘ordered to have drug and alcohol testing four times a month by estranged wife Angelina Jolie’
The actress demanded the tests so ex could get more access to their six children as he claimed she made confidential information public
BRAD Pitt has been ordered by Angelina Jolie to take drug and alcohol tests four times a month according to new court documents detailing the couple's ongoing custody battle.
It became public after Pitt, 52, requested all information regarding the case was kept under seal.
However, just days earlier his estranged wife Jolie, 41, and her lawyer, Laura Wasser filed an order themselves, knowing that by doing so their custody agreement would be in the public domain.
According to the documents which were filed in the Superior Court of California, which was branded the "October Stipulation" the pair are having group therapy sessions with their six children as they work through the split, and there is also a psychologist who deals with child custody issues working out a visitation schedule.
The documents, which were seen by the Mailonline also revealed Pitt's random drug testing.
Pitt's lawyer, Lance S. Spiegel claims: "Based on Ms. Wasser's email dated December 2, 2016, the unauthorized filing of the October Stipulation was caused by (Jolie's) reaction to (Pitt's attorney) having advised her counsel that (Pitt's) time with the children should be increased."
The court filing also suggested the actress had previously refused to have a stipulation and as a result compromised her children's privacy.
He went on to write: "The minor children should be protected from embarrassment and stigma resulting from public access to information concerning their emotional status and their relationships with their parents."
Pitt also made a personal declaration of his own, and said the estranged couple had been unable to agree to a custody schedule for the children.
He highlighted his worry their privacy would be breached if the documents weren't sealed, which could cause "irreparable damage."
Jolie has primary custody of twins Vivienne and Knox, eight, Shiloh, 10, Zahara, 11, Pax, 13, and Maddox, 15, since the couple split in September.
The reaction by Jolie's camp appears to be on the back of Pitt asking for increased time with the children.
An email exchange between Wasser and Spiegel, which was printed on revealed they felt it was the actor's stance which had forced their hand.
In a further bid to stop the document being made public, psychologist Philip M. Stahl provided a witness statement for the actor.
He said he believed the documents should be kept sealed for the sake of their children.
Stahl added research showed children were harmed when exposed to their parent's conflict during divorce proceedings.
Pitt managed to get an emergency hearing in the case but his request was denied by the judge - the pair will next be in court in January.
