Shocking moment violent thug attacks takeaway in Bradford with a HAMMER

Violence erupted on the city's Killinghall Road on Friday

SHOCKING video footage has captured a disturbing hammer attack in Bradford.

The violence, which took place on Friday afternoon outside Killinghall Fisheries takeaway on Killinghall Road, was described as "like a scene from the Wild West" by a local councillor, The Telegraph & Argus reported.

Video taken inside the takeaway appears to show a man throwing something at a car - before the car's passengers chase him to the eatery, where one man smashes into the door and window with a hammer.

A BMW car was also attacked, and discussion about the clip on Facebook - where it was originally uploaded - suggested the violence may have stemmed from a confrontation near a local mosque.

Police have now identified a number of suspects in connection with the appalling incident, and are appealing for witnesses.

In a statement, Detective Inspector Alan Weekes of Bradford CID said:"We are aware of footage thought to be of the incident circulating on social media and understandably members of the community are concerned about what it would appear to show.

"I want to take this opportunity to appeal directly to the local community to identify anyone they see in the footage.

"Likewise if they have any information about what happened please come forward. I would also appeal to anyone who has footage to also come forward.

Meanwhile, the takeaway's owner, Mohammed Shahban, told the The Telegraph & Argus repairs to his shop cost £2,000.
