Video taken inside the takeaway appears to show a man throwing something at a car - before the car's passengers chase him to the eatery, where one man smashes into the door and window with a hammer.

A BMW car was also attacked, and discussion about the clip on Facebook - where it was originally uploaded - suggested the violence may have stemmed from a confrontation near a local mosque.

Police have now identified a number of suspects in connection with the appalling incident, and are appealing for witnesses.

In a statement, Detective Inspector Alan Weekes of Bradford CID said:"We are aware of footage thought to be of the incident circulating on social media and understandably members of the community are concerned about what it would appear to show.

"I want to take this opportunity to appeal directly to the local community to identify anyone they see in the footage.
