Former England boss Glenn Hoddle shares riverside love-nest with mystery blonde months after second divorce
TV footie pundit slipped out of his £800,000 terraced town house moments after smiling mystery woman left the property on Thursday
GLENN Hoddle is sharing a riverside love-nest with a new blonde pal after splitting with his second wife.
The former England boss, 59, began seeing the mystery woman just months after divorcing second missus Vanessa.
On Thursday the TV footie pundit slipped out of his new £800,000 terraced town house before being picked up in a chauffeur-driven Mercedes and driven to the studios of ITV.
Moments earlier, the blonde had also left the property overlooking the Thames near Maidenhead, Berks.
She smiled and waved at the Spurs legend’s driver to show he was coming out before heading off in her silver £40,000 Range Rover Evoque.
The couple were then spotted next morning as they left the three-bed rented pad separately. They have also been together at public functions.
Hoddle split from Vanessa, 58, last year after 15 married years. She has since learned of his new romance.
A source said: “Glenn told her there was no one else involved and that was not the reason for their separation and divorce.
“She has no reason to believe there was a crossover.” There is no suggestion Hoddle was seeing his new partner while still married to Vanessa.
The source said: “Glenn and Vanessa had had a very long, happy marriage but started having problems about a couple of years ago.
“They decided to call it a day and ended things on fairly amicable terms. But his new romance blossomed very quickly and they moved in together.”
Vanessa has kept the £2million five-bed former marital home she shared with the former midfielder just six miles from his new pad.
She and Hoddle got together in 1997 after he walked out on first wife Anne — mum to his children Zoe, 33, Zara, 30 and 24-year-old Jamie. The footie boss ended the 18-year relationship with his childhood sweetheart, saying he no longer loved her.
Months earlier he and Anne, now 59, had appeared on a Shredded Wheat commercial as a happy family unit.
The advert was withdrawn.
In his autobiography Hoddle said dumping Anne was “the hardest thing I’d ever had to do in my life”.
She said later: “His decision to go came completely out of the blue, I was bewildered and shocked.
“I said to Glenn, ‘There must be something we can do to put it right’. And he replied. ‘No, there isn’t. It’s the way I feel’. I was shell-shocked.”
Anne discovered Hoddle was seeing Vanessa, who later divorced her husband Jeffrey, after they met at a gym.
Hoddle, who managed England from 1996 to 1999, insisted he and Vanessa only started seeing each other after his first marriage broke down. They went on to wed in 2000. News of the ex-footballer’s new love comes after he put his Spanish villa up for sale in June.
The golf-loving star has owned the £1.9millon, five-bed Costa del Sol property for 13 years — and also set up a local football academy.
But he told how he had decided to flog it because he wanted to play golf elsewhere.
Hoddle and Vanessa both declined to comment.
