Is Facebook republishing your old posts? Reports come in from across the world about old pictures resurfacing without permission
The glitch appears to be taking users posts at random and regenerating them with a new timestamp so it appears they have been added recently
FACEBOOK is reportedly causing people to experience déjà vu as users from around the world say old pictures are resurfacing on their page without permission.
The glitch appears to be taking users posts at random and regenerating them with a new timestamp so it appears they have been added recently.
For some people it has been one or two old statuses that have been reposted, but one user reported having 59 old posts added to their timeline.
It's had some users riled, with at least one claiming it caused them to shut down their Facebook entirely while the issue prompted others to have concerns they had been hacked.
Most people reporting the problem have also said they recently installed a new app update, raising questions over whether the bug is a result of t he 74.0 v iOS update, which was released yesterday.
Sarah, writing about the issue on her Twitter page, from Birmingham, West Mids., said: "Deactivated my Facebook because it decided to repost about 30 old posts without my permission.
"Staying away until I know it's safe #dramatic".
Phil, from London, wrote: "Thanks @facebook! I've just spent the best part of 10 minutes deleting old posts that suddenly appeared on my wall! #Facebook".

"Really weird, anyone else ever have this happen? The posts were completely random and they were things I posted a while ago...."
It's not clear at this stage how widespread the issue is but users in both the UK and US have reported the reposting problem.
A Facebook spokesperson said: "We've heard that some people are seeing old posts reappear on Facebook, and some posts that had failed to upload are now appearing.
"This involved a bug in the latest version of Facebook for iOS, which we fixed quickly. We are removing the affected posts and are sorry for the inconvenience.”
