We live next to one of the UK’s busiest roads – we don’t mind the noise, it’s the drunks who make our lives hell
LOCALS living next to one of the UK's busiest roads aren't bothered by the noise - but say drunks make their lives hell.
Fuming residents of Tritton Road, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, say their homes are plagued by nuisance lager louts who go through their bins.
Homeowners are also locked in bitter parking battles - forcing some to sign up for gym memberships just to use the car park.
The situation has gotten so bad people are being slapped with fines for leaving their cars outside their own house.
Kalem Harrison, 24, and Chloe Tumilty, 21, told : "It's fine living here but the parking is terrible because of all the double-yellow lines.
"We've had to start paying to go to the local gym just so we can park our car there."

Chloe is therefore forced to walk home alone in the dark, she added: "The noise isn't the problem here".
Meanwhile Kalem claimed he's been given two tickets for parking outside his home and another local on the street was handed a whopping six within a month.
The 24-year-old added: "He started paying for the gym even though he didn't go.
"He just needed somewhere to park."

He also said the area sees hoards of drunk students passing through in the early hours of the morning.
"You can't keep your bins out at night because people will go through them. But it's not too bad - it doesn't keep you up at night," Kalem continued.
Another resident, Aodhán Burrows, is a student himself and has no complaints.
"The noise is fine once you get about halfway down the street," he said.
But, the 26-year-old did admit he can see parking issues arising if there are more students moving into the area.
He added: "Then you'll have five or six cars per house, rather than just two."
Steven East, 70, is also raging at the daily parking nightmare caused by students.
"We're suffering from people leaving their cars in the street for more than a week and not moving," he said.
"Four or five parking tickets are being handed out here a week, but the students come and go so a lot of these tickets end up going to the residents - it seems unfair."
The retiree, who has lived on the street for 15 years, explained people going to work nearby leave their cars on the road from around 8am till past 5pm.
"So the people who live here are always fighting for the parking spaces," he added.
"You really are lucky if you can get one."
But, Steven agreed with Kalem and Chloe that he is not bothered by road or traffic noise.
He said: "Every house has double-glazing now, so the noise from the cars is minimal.
"But we have had a lot of noise from construction when they've been building student accommodation."
However the 70-year-old admitted he is "quite happy living" there because of the handy amenities close-by.
This comes as other residents living on busy UK roads say they don't mind it.
Edgewood Mews in Finchley, North London, sits on the North Circular, which at its busiest has 10,000 vehicles an hour chugging along it.
But despite relentless noise and pollution from the 25.7-mile-long ring road - residents say they "can't hear a thing".
Meanwhile, a family who live under the M4 motorway can feel their home shudder as heavy traffic passes overhead - but they love it.
Congestion noise, beeping horns and shaking windows don't bother Arthur and Gwyneth Howells.
Plus, residents living under the Spaghetti Junction motorway say they have their own "beach" - and are proud to live there.
