Our picturesque seaside town is being ruined by tourists – now we’re building huge barriers to stop them dumping rubbish
RESIDENTS say their picturesque seaside town is being ruined by tourists - so they're building huge barriers to stop them dumping rubbish.
The car park behind the beach at Porth Trecastell in Anglesey, north Wales is a popular spot for camper vans and motorhomes.
But locals have slammed the way some parked-up tourists have dealt with "waste disposal".
They have taken matters into their own hands - by demanding a huge barrier to keep out the camper vans.
reports that the barrier will be made of two 8ft-high posts holding up a 26ft-long bar.
Cadnant Planning said: "The access barrier is proposed in order to control the use of the car park.

"This is principally to limit prolonged periods of motorhome occupation which has led to complaints of waste pollution from members of the general public.
"The access barrier will also provide some safety element and restrict the speeds that vehicles can access, exit and move within the site."
Pedestrians, binmen, emergency services and permit-holding traders will still be able to enter the car park through new gates.
Anglesey Council approved plans for the barrier this month.
