Inside Lucy Letby’s treasure trove of souvenirs as killer nurse kept twisted mementos of babies she murdered

KILLER nurse Lucy Letby kept a disturbing treasure trove of souvenirs as mementos of the seven babies she murdered.

The monster, 32, stashed nursing handover sheets and resuscitation notes at her home in Chester.

Police also discovered a thank you card from the parents of twins she attacked and a photo of a sympathy card she sent a mum of one of her victims.

The nurse had scribbled haunting notes in diaries and on Post-It notes, including one that read: "I am evil I did this."

The note added: "I don't deserve to live. I killed them on purpose because I'm not good enough to care for them.

"I am a horrible person."

Other notes were declarations of love for a doctor colleague, who cannot be identified, that she repeatedly confided in as her death toll rose.

There were also some that bore the messages "Kill me" and "Help me" along with the names of some the babies she murdered.

In one, Letby scrawled: "I can't do this anymore. I can't live like this.

"No one will ever understand or appreciate what's like."

She also wrote "I loved you", adding: "I wanted you to stand by me but you didn't."

Letby also kept detailed handover sheets relating to 13 of the children she was either killed or hurt.

A further 99 contained information on babies she treated while she was working as a student nurse.

Her first-ever handover sheet was found in a keepsake box decorated with roses, while others had been dumped in bin bags in her garage of kept at her parents' home.

In a bag for life hidden under Letby's bed was resuscitation notes scribbled on a paper towel that related to attempted murder victim Baby M.

During her trial, Letby claimed the twisted haul was simply because she "collected paper".

But jurors were told she actually kept the notes to enable her to look up the parents of her victims after targeting their children.

This included the mum of Child E, who Letby murdered an injection of air into the bloodstream.

She searched the mum's name nine times on Facebook between the baby's death in August 2015 and January 2016.

Letby made 2,380 searches on Facebook in total over her 12-month killing spree - including 277 in one month alone.

She claimed it was a "normal pattern of behaviour" for her to look for the parents of babies she had treated more than once on Facebook as they were "often on my mind".

Letby was today convicted of seven counts of murder following a nine-month trial and 22 days of jury deliberation.

The monster's sickening death toll makes her the UK's most prolific killer nurse and one of Britain's worst-ever female serial killers.

She was also found guilty of attempting to murder a further six babies as the families of some of her victims comforted each other in court.

The nurse will be sentenced on Monday.
