Cops launch urgent probe after girl raped in playground as man, 18, arrested
COPS have launched an urgent probe after a girl was raped in a playground - with an 18-year-old man arrested over the attack.
The teen girl was reportedly raped in a playground in Erith, east London just after 9.30pm on Tuesday.
A man, 18, has been bailed after he was arrested near the scene on suspicion of rape.
Cops are now investigating the horrific attack - and are urging witnesses to come forward.
Detective Inspector Mark Paterson said: "Importantly, the young victim and her family are being supported by specially trained officers at this unimaginably difficult time.
"I understand that this is an extremely concerning incident and I want to offer reassurance that detectives are conducting a full and thorough investigation to bring the person responsible to justice.

"I would ask anyone who may have witnessed anything, no matter how insignificant you may think it to be, to get in touch without delay."
A Met Police spokesman added: "Detectives are investigating after a teenage girl reported she had been raped in a playground area near to Canada Road, DA8 shortly after 9.30pm on Tuesday, 15 August.
"An 18-year old man was arrested near the scene on suspicion of rape.
"He was taken into custody and later released on bail pending further enquiries.
