Tributes to Charlie Lowe, 11, and his dad after father and son were killed in horror crash – as man, 28, arrested
TRIBUTES have been paid to an 11-year-old boy and his father who died after being struck by a van in a horror crash.
Dean Richard Lowe, 48 and Charlie Lowe were walking along a road in Grouville, Jersey, before being hit by the vehicle which left the scene without stopping.
Cops and emergency services scrambled to the scene on Rue de Fauvic and rushed the victims to A&E.
Sadly both Dean and Charlie died from their injuries late on Saturday night after the suspected hit and run.
Their family have released pictures as a tribute to them after the tragedy.
A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to report a collision – he remains in custody.

After an extensive search, cops said a white van with "substantial" damage to its front end was found in St Helier.
Paying tribute, one social media user who knew Dean said: "Heartbreaking. Only met Dean a few weeks ago and he instantly made you comfortable in his presence.
"Such a gent. RIP Dean & Charlie. Sending strength to their family!"
Hayley Routier, who worked with Dean also paid tribute to the father and son.

She said: "Dean and I clicked from the moment we met, bonding over our mutual love for swing music, and we worked very closely together to create more digital opportunities for the Jersey Employment Trust's clients.
"I am honoured to have called Dean my friend - his zest for life, dedication to making a difference, and warm spirit will always leave a lasting impression on me.
"He was a talented crooner who regularly performed at the Marina Metro Hotel, and I was planning on asking him to sing at my 40th birthday party.
"My thoughts are with Ash, their family, friends, and Dean's colleagues at JET at this incredibly difficult time. May you both rest in peace."
Another man who worked with the dad wrote: "Dean was a voice for inclusion and a champion for disabilities & neurodiversity.
"It was a pleasure to have worked with him on projects and am forever grateful for his support."
Rue de Fauvic was shut for 14 hours following the collision and reopened yesterday afternoon.
Police would like to speak to anyone who can help in this investigation.
Jersey Police said: "We are now able to confirm that the father and son killed in the road traffic collision on Rue de Fauvic on Saturday evening were 48 year old Dean Richard Lowe and 11 year old Charlie Lowe.
"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Dean and Charlie and we offer our sincere condolences to them at this very sad time.

The States of Jersey Police are asking locals with property in the area and private CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
