Tragic Mikayla Ferguson-Burns died in hospital on Saturday evening
A ‘BEAUTIFUL, intelligent and caring’ woman has died after being hit by a taxi in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Mikayla Ferguson-Burns, 33, was found in a critical condition after being hit by the white Toyota Prius.
She lost her fight for life in hospital on Saturday evening after the collision in Salford.
Today her devastated family paid tribute, calling Mikayla, from Rawtenstall, Lancashire, “amazing”.
In a statement they said: “Mikayla was amazing, simply amazing. She has so many family members and friends that are going to miss her dearly.

The statement went on: “She was beautiful, intelligent, hilarious and so so caring. Mikayla always put others before herself and she will never be forgotten”.
Her friends have also paid tribute to her on Facebook, with Jean-Marie Eaton writing: “Seriously seriously sad news. Such a beautiful lady inside and out. I just have memories from primary school and sixth form of you having me in stitches. R.I.P Mikayla Ferguson-Burns my thoughts go out to your close friends and family.”
Ian Jackson added: “She is one of the most genuine and loveable people I have had the pleasure to meet. Always lightened my day when I saw her at uni. Her laugh always infectious. Gonna miss you Mikayla r.i.p.”
Eugene Matias also wrote: “Found out one of the kindest souls I have had the privilege to have met has passed away. Rest in peace Mikayla Ferguson-Burns. My prayers goes out to all her family and friends. Your warm smiles will be missed.”
Jenna Knowles added: “The world lost a beautiful soul and amazing girl. RIP Mikayla Ferguson-Burns, Andy and I are sending all our love to family and friends and everyone who is in unimaginable pain right now - thinking of you - the world makes no sense.”
Police were called in the early hours of Saturday morning to reports that a taxi, a white Toyota Prius, had hit a woman.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and has been fully co-operative with the investigation, police say.
An investigation is now underway and police are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch.
PC Paul Shore from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This is such a tragedy, this young woman had her whole life ahead of her.
“We have opened and investigation and we are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come and speak to us.
“We want to be able to provide Mikayla’s family with the answers they deserve.”
