His death has been met with "shock and disbelief" at the university.

Police are not treated it as suspicious.

A University of Chester spokesman said: "The thoughts of everyone connected at the University of Chester are with the man’s family.

“The student’s friends are receiving specialist support from the university.

“This tragic incident follows just weeks after the sudden deaths of two other students from natural causes and, understandably, the cumulative effect on students and staff is one of shock and disbelief."

The ambulance service and Cheshire police attended the halls on Delamere Street on Saturday.

A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: “Officers were called by ambulance to an address on Delamere Street.

“Sadly a 20-year-old man was pronounced at the scene. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.”

The man is the third University of Chester student to die since October.

Graphic design undergraduate Enya McDonnell, 18, died suddenly at Sumner House on October 22.

Fellow student April Fox, 38, died at her private accommodation on October 21.

The deaths were not being treated as suspicious and are not thought to have been connected.
