Donald Trump finds time to block critical people on Twitter despite promising to be ‘more presidential’

President-elect had said he was going to tone down his act but critical social media users say they are being silenced even after he won the White House last month

DONALD Trump has been blocking more people on Twitter despite promising to become “more presidential”.

Social media users have been posting pictures of messages telling them they now can’t see any of the President-elect’s tweets.

One user last week wrote: “I have been blocked by Donald Trump. Propaganda as a Fascist tool starts with controlling the narrative. Donald Trump allows no dissent.”

Other Twitter users took their ban with more humour.  One said: “Oh my god, yes! Thanks Donald Trump.”

Another said: “Haha! I’ve been blocked by Trump! I’ve been blocked by Trump! Haha!”

He told Fox News at the time: “I have two leftovers (Republican presidential competitors). I call them leftovers.

“They haven't been very nice to me. I will beat them. After I beat them I will be so presidential.”

The “leftovers” he was referring to were rivals Senator Ted Cruz and Governor John Kasich.

The long-time star of the American version of The Apprentice added: “You're going to be so bored; you're going to say this is the most boring human being I've ever interviewed.

“I think if I act very presidential I'll be dull, but that will be fine.”

Yesterday the President-elect risked igniting a crisis with China after he had a telephone conversation with the President of Taiwan.

Taiwan is an independent state off of China’s east coast that is home to 23.5 million people but China disputes its international status and believes the land should fall under its control.
