Captain Tom’s daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore faces MORE backlash after ‘claiming credit for father’s award’

CAPTAIN Sir Tom Moore's daughter faces further backlash after claiming credit for her dad's charity award.

Hannah Ingram-Moore used the George HW Bush Points of Light Award that was given to Captain Tom in 2020 in recognition of his lockdown fundraising heroics to promote her business.

The Maytrix Group, which Mrs Ingram-Moore runs with her husband Colin, lists the gong in the Awards section of their website, saying that she received it "alongside her late father".

The entry is placed below two awards she won solo for her role as a leading woman in business in 2021.

It is accompanied by a photo of Mrs Ingram-Moore with Captain Tom and reads: "President George H.W. Bush believed that every societal problem is being solved somewhere by a group or an individual.

"Hannah was thrilled to receive the Award alongside her late father, Captain Sir Tom Moore, for their fundraising efforts during the pandemic."

Captain Tom received the award after walking 100 lengths of the garden at his home during lockdown in time for his 100th birthday, raising £32 million in the process for NHS charities.

A spokesperson for Points of Light said: "In 2020, Points of light honoured Captain Sir Thomas Moore with The George H.W. Bush Points of Light Award.

"The award honours individuals who demonstrate the transformative power of service and who are driving significant and sustained impact through their everyday actions and words that light the path for others.

"Captain Sir Thomas’ inspirational dedication to giving back to NHS charities and healthcare staff during the pandemic embodied service and being a point of light at its highest."

It comes after the Ingram-Moores faced controversy as they were accused of using his name to build a pool house and spa complex in their garden.

The couple had told planners that the structure would be used as an office for the Captain Tom Foundation.

However, The Sun exclusively revealed that they built the 50ft by 20ft pool house with changing rooms, toilets and showers instead.

They had applied in their own names for planning permission — but used the foundation’s name in the design and access and heritage statement.

The charity's trustees told The Sun: "At no time were The Captain Tom Foundation’s independent trustees aware of planning permissions made by Mr and Mrs Ingram-Moore purporting to be in the foundation’s name.

"Had they been aware of any applications, the independent trustees would not have authorised them.";

The pair were ordered to tear down the building, while the foundation released a statement confirming it would stop accepting donations while inquiries continued.

The Maytrix Group has been contacted for comment.
