Who is Georgina Baillie?

Georgina Baillie is the granddaughter of comedic actor Andrew Sachs who played loveable Spanish waiter in iconic sitcom Fawlty Towers.

In 2008, Baillie was a member of dance troupe Satantic Sluts in which she met self-confessed sex addict Russell Brand.

Speaking with The Guardian in November 2008, she revealed that she developed a drug problem in her late-teens and was sacked from her job in TV because she was “irresponsible”.

After working in a bar, she joined the “horror dance burlesque show” in which the members would rip off each other’s clothes and then pull “each other's guts out”.

From 2010 to 2013 she performed as a backing singer with Adam Ant & the Good, the Mad and the Lovely Posse, before leaving to join The Poor School, a drama school in King's Cross, London.

In January 2015, Baillie appeared on stage in Harold Pinter's The Homecoming.

What was Sachsgate and how was Georgina Baillie involved?

In October 2008, on an episode of Russell Brand’s Radio 2 show, the comedian’s friend David Baddiel spoke about meeting Ballie at Brand’s house.

The Three Lions singer and Brand joked about the latter allegedly having sex with Baillie while Baddiel was supposed to be writing jokes with the My Booky Wook author.

The following week on Brand’s radio show, Andrew Sachs was supposedly scheduled for a phone interview while guest Jonathan Ross was in the studio.

However, when the call went to voicemail, Brand and Ross left an offensive message which included the latter ITV chat show host declaring that the Forgetting Sarah Marshall actor had “f****d” Baillie.

The pair then called the Manuel actor several times more - leaving vulgar messages.

In the ensuing fall out, Brand and Ross were both suspended from the BBC.

Brand left his Radio 2 show soon after while Ross did not renew his multi-million pound contract with the Beeb in 2010.

Baillie stayed largely silent whilst in the eye of the storm – which was quickly dubbed ‘Sachsgate’ by the press– admitting that she fled to Austria during the scandal.
