Buffalo avoids the jaws of two hungry lion prides when they start fighting amongst themselves in shocking footage

SHOCKING footage has shown the horrors of the wild as a buffalo escaped the jaws of two prides of lions.
The video, posted by LatestSightings, shows a herd of buffalo being chased by a pride of lions when one unlucky animal is cornered by the lions.
As the prides feast on their catch, a rival lioness who is also looking to feed sparks rage with the others and leads to a battle.
As the chaos unfolds, the buffalo manages to slowly get up and walks away which is completely unnoticed by the lions who are still fighting.
It then walks up the embankment despite receiving a number of bite marks.
Viewed more than 2.4 million times, the footage was captured by Mike Kirman in the Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa.
The professional guide caught the footage of the two prides which have been given the names ‘Eyrefield’ and ‘Matshapiri’.
According to the website, the lionesses of the ‘Eyrefield’ pride are the ones who chased the lone buffalo and are later joined by males from ‘Matashapiri’ who help bring down their prey.
When everyone watching thinks it is all over and the triumphant lions start to begin their meal, a lioness from the ‘Matshapiri’ pride tries to sneak in.
This is not tolerated by the other rival lionesses and a huge fight follows.
In all the confusion the buffalo spots an opportunity to escape and sneaks up the embankment.
The video ends soon after with the viewer ensure as to whether the buffalo, which suffered bad injuries, survives.
