THIS is the shocking moment have-a-go heroes fought off machete wielding thugs after a terrifying designer store robbery.

Cops were called to the Flannels store on Vicar Lane, Leeds, shortly before 9.50am to reports of an armed robbery.

Four to five suspects reportedly entered the shop, with at least one carrying a weapon.

The video, shared on Instagram by an account called , shows two men wearing balaclavas getting out of a BMW.

They can be seen chasing after a store worker who seems to be attempting to protect a bulky bag.

One of the criminals then slashes at a staff member with what appears to be a machete.

The robber then drags the white sack towards the getaway vehicle, but is again met with resistance from a man clad in black.

Another store worker helps as the pair save the stolen goods and the BMW then drives away.

It is still being confirmed what was stolen from the shop on July 3, but no-one was harmed in the incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this robbery and are asking anyone who was in the area to check their dashcam footage to see if they have captured any part of this incident.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Leeds District CID by using  or by calling 101, quoting 13230368639."
