Urgent warning as three kids seriously injured in blaze caused by household item
AN URGENT warning has been issued over a common household appliance after three kids were left with severe burns.
Emergency services rushed to a house in Bulwell, Nottingham after the item sparked a huge blast.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue was called to Longford Crescent shortly after 5.40pm on Monday.
Fire crews from Stockhill, Arnold and Hucknall attended the scene.
The three children were found seriously injured and were rescued from the blast by a neighbour.
They were taken to the hospital by ambulance after one of them was left in pain with severe burns.

The brigade said the explosion was caused by a fault in a large lithium-ion battery.
Investigators believe the battery could have been used to charge a bike or any other type of vehicle.
Beth Hayman, Fire Investigation Officer, said: “We would like to wish a speedy recovery to those injured and affected in the incident earlier this week."
Fire experts advised people to check batteries of home appliances to prevent damaging consequences.

Ms. Hayman explained: “Lithium-ion batteries can be found in everyday technology and household items such as laptops, mobile phones, e-cigarettes, e-scooters and DIY tools.
"If not handled and cared for correctly, can become extremely dangerous and behave in a volatile manner causing catastrophic damage and injuries.”
The Fire Rescue services will be visiting the area to reassure next Monday, July 17.
Homeowners will be offered free Safe and Well visits to check smoke alarms.
It comes as drivers issued another warning after a pair of sunglasses caused a horror car fire.
A picture of the vehicle showed a gaping hole where the windscreen had been melted by the intense heat.
Elsewhere, Brits planning to BBQ in their gardens were warned after a flaming grill torched a family's bungalow leaving them homeless.
The blaze was started in a back garden at Kirby Cross, near Frinton, Essex.
Fire brigades urged people to keep an eye on where they position their BBQs and suggest keeping them on level ground and well away from anything flammable such as trees, sheds or fences.
