Photographer’s hunt for mystery wedding couple pictured in old roll of film he found inside 50-year-old camera he bought on eBay
Alex Galmeanu stumbled upon pictures of the young lovers believed taken in Scotland in a rare camera made in the 1960s
A FASHION photographer has launched an online search for a couple pictured on an old roll of film he found inside a 50-year-old camera.
Alex Galmeanu, 38, bought the rare second hand camera on eBay from a seller near Birmingham before discovering an undeveloped film still inside.
It comes as the online auction website, eBay, reported a massive rise in nineties and noughties technology being listed and it’s sometimes selling for hundreds of pounds.
The snapper, from Romania, developed the images at his home studio and was stunned too find ten images depicting a wedding.
He now believes he has unearthed pictures of a Scottish couple's rural wedding which he thinks took place sometime in the early 1970s.
The black-and-white pictures feature a happy couple posing on garden steps with family members, the blushing bride with her mother and several snaps of a country house and children playing under a tree.

Alex is now appealing for help in tracking down the couple and hopes to hand over his find to them.
Alex said: "I bought the camera for around £30 on eBay as I just needed the lens from that model. But when I opened the package I noticed there was still an undeveloped film inside.
"It is obvious to see that it is a wedding and after some investigation I have come to the conclusion that this event took place in Scotland in the 1970s.
"It would be amazing to find these people after all these years and return their pictures but I realise that might well be a long shot."

The amateur sleuth centred his hunt on Scotland after discovering the car was registered in Edinburgh between August 1973 and July 1974.
He added: "At the end of the day, I have a camera made up to the 1960’s, a film roll produced somewhere between 1963 and 1974, a film developing process popular between 1950 and 1973 only, and a 1973-1974 Edinburgh registered car, produced between1969 and 1981.
"So I am quite confident that I'm not wrong in saying we are witnessing a Scottish wedding from 1973.
"I've also learned that the camera was shipped from Southam, near Birmingham, and had been placed on a shelf of a local collector who it seems never had the curiosity to open it.
"Of course, this is a great experience for a photographer like me considering the fact that I was able to process a roll film exposed 5 years before my birth.
"And it would be an honour to meet these people and to give them the images. I can imagine their faces when a photographer from Romania turns up to deliver them their wedding pictures from the 1970s."
