Fernando Ricksen’s ex-wife ordered to reveal where she’s hidden the terminally ill player’s money
Judge gives ultimatum to Graciela L’Ami in bitter seven-year battle
THE EX wife of terminally ill Rangers legend Fernando Ricksen has been ordered to reveal what she’s done with his cash or face a fine of up to 100,000 euros, it’s been reported.
We told in June this year how Graciela L’Ami, 42, was told to pay the dying idol £370,000 after losing a bitter seven-year cash battle.
But the pair are now believed to have been told by a judge that they must reveal within four weeks what happened to the money they once shared.
If they don’t give an answer in time they could each face a fine of up to 500 euros a day – which could run up to £85,000.
His lawyer Ivo Sigmond told Dutch newspaper De Stentor: “We are particularly interested in what numbers they come up and whether some of the money that belongs to Fernando Ricksen is still there and in safe condition.
“When that money is gone, she has another problem and we step back to court.”
Ricksen and Graciela — who wed in Glasgow in 2000 — have been at war over their finances since he took her to court in 2009.
The former Netherlands international, who split from the beautician a year earlier, accused her of trying to claw cash from him to fund a lavish lifestyle.
He told how Graciela believed he stashed away £400,000 from a three-year spell playing for Russian side Zenit St Petersburg.
But he claimed she raked in rent from a Spanish property while he survived on handouts.
Judges ruled in his favour March 2013 — and told Graciela to pay £370,000 but she then appealed.
She lost the appeal in June this year — and she was told to finally cough up.
Ricksen – who is battling motor neurone disease – now uses a wheelchair.
However, he was left gutted when his idol Diego Maradona failed to show up.
