Famous Irish pub BANS stag and hen parties leaving locals and tourists divided – and some are furious
IRISH pubgoers have been left divided after a famous spot decided to ban stag and hen parties.
Tigh Neachtain in Galway announced it has closed its doors to groups celebrating brides and grooms to be.
The popular pub has put a sign on its front door warning stag and hen parties of their rules.
It reads: "Dear customer, please note that we are unable to host hen and stag parties in our bar."
Management also made an announcement online.
They said: "Sorry lads not tonight.
"Dear customers, due to complete lack of space (and our locals) we are unable to accept stag and hen parties in our bar.
"We hope you understand and can continue on the celebrations elsewhere".
Tigh Neachtain announced the news online and people flocked to the comment section with dividing opinions.
One person said: "Up in Carrick an Shannon last week for a hen party it was full of hen and stag parties the place was hopping and I must say I saw no problem just everyone having a great time.

One Tigh Neachtain fan said: "That’s fair enough if he gets enough other customers in but some hen and stag parties are well behaved - don’t tar them all with the one brush."
Another added: "The right decision, Galway has plenty of pubs that can cater for [them]. Tigh Neachtain should remain sacred and devoid of intrusions of a stag/hen party variety."
Tigh Neachtain was established in 1984 and has long been popular among the locals.
The Galway pub has been home to some of the most talented Irish trad musician including Sharon Shannon, Brendan O’Regan, Deirbhile Ni Bhrolchain, Kevin Hough, Breda Smyth and Brian Lennon.
Pubgoers can enjoy a large selection of drinks, from little known craft beers to rare and vintage whiskeys and scotch.
