Two people ‘mauled by same German Shepherd in just four days’ as owner charged and dog seized
A DOG owner is facing a trial after two people were allegedly mauled by her German Shepherd within four days.
Louise Kirby, 44, has been charged with owning a dog dangerously out of control after the reported attacks.
Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court heard yesterday that her dog Tyson set upon the two victims on the same road just days apart in August last year.
Kirby, from Bolton, Greater Manchester, spoke only to confirm her name, address and date of birth and to enter not guilty pleas to the two charges.
Her defence disputes the fact that any injuries were sustained in the alleged attacks.
Kirby was bailed but Tyson has been seized by police and is set to be rehomed.

Magistrates confirmed that the trial is set for February 5 next year.
It comes amid a spate of dog attacks this year, including one in which a schoolboy was thrown like a ragdoll by a vicious Rottweiler last month.
In another horror, a grandma was mauled to death by an allegedly banned dog as she sunbathed just a few weeks ago.
