Tristan Tate branded ‘richest man in the world with £500billion Bitcoin stash’ – but cops reveal his REAL fortune
TRISTAN Tate was branded the "world's richest man" after it was reported he had £500billion worth of crypto assets.
But Romanian cops have revealed the influencer's real fortune - which is estimated to be around £10million.
Tristan was dubbed the "richest man in the world" due to a tweet circulating yesterday that claimed he had $380million worth of crypto assets.
Sources revealed to the Sun Online that the tweet was based on a mistranslation from Romanian media - and his actual net worth is much lower.
Responding to speculation about his finances, Tristan tweeted: "Never forget that the mainstream media think I own 21,000,000 bitcoin."
His comment was retweeted by a crypto account that said: "Congrats Tristan on being proclaimed the richest man in the world with a net worth of $564 billion."

The 34-year-old also admitted that he and his older brother Andrew, share a bank account.
When asked whether he and his brother "share the same bank account and none of you cares who makes or owns what," Tristan simply replied, "That’s true."
The Sun Online exclusively revealed that the duo that has been charged with sex trafficking offenses, is actually worth around £10million.
Tate faces trial over allegations of trafficking and rape - and they strongly deny all allegations against them.

Tristan has moaned he is collateral damage in the “war” on Andrew but admitted he does not regret for a second staying by his older brother.
As part of the ongoing investigation, Romania's organised crime police unit DIICOT listed the brothers' luxurious assets including flashy cars and expensive properties.
A source told The Sun Online: "The biggest assets of Tate brothers are their cars - which are estimated to be around £8million.
"Their houses and lands are also estimated at more than £2million."
The list by the Romania police includes 15 luxury cars, 15 properties, 14 watches, two "ingots" and shares in four companies as well as crypto assets believed to be 21 Bitcoin.
The company investments were worth just £84,000.
Andrew has previously bragged about his wealth - and claimed he is the "world's first trillionaire".
Meanwhile, cops continue their probe into amid money laundering allegations.
The source added: "As for their accounts, further investigations are to be made, as there is also another file on their names for money laundering, a file which is far from being ended."
The two brothers would boast about their lavish lifestyle on social media.
Pictures showed the Tates' car collection at their £600,000 warehouse-like compound on the outskirts of Bucharest including a Lamborghini, an Aston Martin, a Ferrari, and a Rolls Royce.
But Tate's lawyers have even claimed he plays a "character" online for the purposes of entertainment.
Tristan and Andrew were released from the hellhole jail they have been held in following their arrest in December.
The pair, alongside two Romanian female suspects, have been formally charged with forming an organised criminal group for human trafficking in Romania.
Andrew has also been charged with rape and Tristan has been charged with instigating others to violence.
A spokesman for the pair said: "The indictment of Andrew and Tristan Tate has been sent to the court, as per the DIICOT's recent press release.
"While this news is undoubtedly predictable, we embrace the opportunity it presents to demonstrate their innocence and vindicate their reputation.
