UKRAINE launched a daring early morning drone attack on a military base close to Moscow.
The strike is the latest in a series of drone attacks on Russia in recent weeks that brings Putin's brutal war in Ukraine ever-closer to his doorstep.
The target appeared to be facilities of the 15th Motor Rifle Brigade of the Taman division at Kalininets village in Moscow region.
Two drones exploded at 5.30am and 5.50am, with regional governor Andrei Vorobyov claiming they were downed, although this was not independently verified.
Footage showed one of the drones deep inside Russia heading towards the base, which is 35 miles southwest of the Kremlin, said reports.
“Two aircraft-type [drones] crashed at around 5.30am and 5.50am on approach to the depots of a military unit as a result of military countermeasures,” said the governor.
