The coach crashed into a hole opened up by a burst water main
SUPERMARKET giant Lidl stepped in to feed 100 tourists - including 30 children - when their coach crashed into a sinkhole that opened up when a London street was flooded by a burst water main.
The passengers were rescued by firefighters when Lee High Road in Lewisham, in the south east of the capital was deluged by a ruptured pipe.
Pedestrians and drivers were urged to avoid the street and pictures posted on social media showed the extent of the flood.
Cops tweeted: "Big thanks to Lidl UK for providing food to the 100 tourists (inc. 30 kids) who are stranded as a result of the incident on Lee High Road."
